Appliance Protection Plan – Terms & Conditions

1. Parties

This Agreement is between Octopus Royal Appliances Repair & Services (“Octopus Royal”, “we”, “us”) and the customer named in this form (“Customer”, “you”) for the Appliance Protection Plan selected on this page.

2. Plan Selection

By submitting this form, you are enrolling in one of the following:

  • Basic Protection Plan – Up to 5 major household appliances, fixed monthly fee as shown on the form.
  • Standard Protection Plan – Expanded coverage and benefits, fixed monthly fee as shown on the form.
  • Premium Protection Plan – Top-tier coverage and benefits, fixed monthly fee as shown on the form.
  • Custom / High-End Protection Plan (where applicable) – Custom pricing and coverage as agreed with the technician and recorded in this form.

The exact plan, pricing, and any additional surcharges are shown and agreed on the form at the time of enrollment.

3. Term, Billing & Renewal

  • The Plan has a minimum term of 12 months from the Activation Date.
  • Fees are billed on a recurring monthly basis to the payment method you provide.
  • At the end of each 12-month term, the Plan will automatically renew for another 12-month term at the then-current pricing unless cancelled in advance as described below.
  • If you wish to cancel at the end of the 12-month term, you must provide written notice at least 30 days before the renewal date.
  • Early cancellation within the initial 12-month term may result in an early termination fee or payment of remaining months, at Octopus Royal’s discretion.

4. Coverage

  • The Plan covers internal mechanical and electrical failures of covered appliances due to normal residential use.
  • Certain parts, cosmetic issues, pre-existing damage, improper installation, misuse, abuse, neglect, fire, flood, pests, power surges, or acts of nature are not covered.
  • Certain brands, models, or specialty units may be excluded or may require a high-end surcharge (see Section 5).
  • Coverage applies only to appliances located at the service address listed on this Agreement.

5. High-End / Built-In / Custom Appliances & Extra Charges

  • Certain appliances such as built-in fridges, panel-ready units, high-capacity commercial-style ranges, specialty wine coolers, or other high-end equipment may require an additional monthly surcharge or a Custom Protection Plan.
  • Any additional monthly amount for high-end or custom appliances will be explained by the technician, agreed with you, and recorded on this form (including the appliance type, brand, model, and agreed extra monthly fee in CAD).
  • The extra monthly amount may be billed as:
    • an add-on surcharge on top of a Basic, Standard, or Premium Plan; or
    • a separate Custom / High-End Protection Plan by itself.
  • High-end surcharges and Custom Plans are billed on the same 12-month minimum term and monthly billing basis as other Plans, unless otherwise stated in writing on this Agreement.
  • If a high-end or custom appliance is not disclosed and listed on this Agreement, Octopus Royal reserves the right to refuse coverage or to quote a revised Plan price before proceeding with repairs.

6. Service Calls, Deductible & Limitations

  • Each repair visit is subject to the service call deductible listed for your Plan.
  • Deductible is payable per service request, per appliance, unless otherwise specified.
  • Octopus Royal is not responsible for loss of food, downtime, or any indirect or consequential damages.
  • Octopus Royal may, at its sole discretion, repair, replace, or provide an allowance towards replacement if an appliance is deemed non-repairable.

7. Annual Maintenance Visit

  • Each Plan includes one annual maintenance visit, as stated in the Plan description.
  • It is the Customer’s responsibility to schedule this maintenance visit within the 12-month term.
  • Missed or unused maintenance visits do not carry over into the next term.

8. Billing Authorization

By signing and submitting this form, you authorize Octopus Royal and its payment processor (Stripe) to automatically charge your selected Plan fee, any approved high-end/custom surcharges, and applicable service call deductibles to your payment method on file, on a recurring monthly basis, in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

9. Cancellation & Changes

  • To request cancellation at the end of a 12-month term, you must contact us in writing (email or text as provided by the technician) at least 30 days before renewal.
  • Changes to covered appliances, address, or Plan level (Basic/Standard/Premium/Custom) must be requested in writing and confirmed by Octopus Royal.
  • Octopus Royal reserves the right to adjust Plan pricing at renewal. Any new pricing will be communicated before the new 12-month term begins.

10. Acceptance

By checking the agreement box, providing your payment details, and submitting this form, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions, including the minimum 12-month term, monthly recurring billing, and any additional high-end or custom charges recorded on this Agreement.
