Frigidaire dishwasher repair for Toronto homes, condos and rental units
We fix Frigidaire dishwashers that won't drain, leak, don't clean well, won't fill or won't start. Common repairs include drain pumps, inlet valves, door gaskets, door latches, wash motors and heating elements.
A dishwasher leak in a Toronto kitchen can damage flooring, baseboards, cabinet panels, condo units below, and surrounding finishes. Booking service early helps prevent a small dishwasher problem from becoming a larger property damage issue.
Common Frigidaire dishwasher problems we fix in Toronto
We repair Frigidaire built-in dishwashers, including Gallery and Professional models, in houses, condos and rental units across Toronto. These are the problems we see most often:
Usually a blocked filter, a kinked or clogged drain hose, or a failed drain pump. If the filter is clean and the pump only hums or stays silent, the pump is the likely cause.
Worn door gasket, a leaking pump seal, a cracked spray arm or a loose hose connection. We find the actual leak source before replacing anything.
Clogged spray arms, a dirty filter, a weak wash motor or low water fill. Detergent and rinse aid settings also make a big difference.
A faulty water inlet valve, a stuck float switch or a water supply problem under the sink.
Often a door latch switch, a control board or a power supply issue. We test each part instead of guessing.
A failed heating element or high-limit thermostat, or simply an empty rinse aid dispenser.
Frigidaire dishwasher not draining: drain pump replaced in Downtown Toronto
The problem: This Frigidaire dishwasher in Downtown Toronto stopped draining. Water stayed in the bottom of the tub after every cycle.
The cause: The drain pump had failed, so it could no longer push the water out to the drain hose.
What we did:
- Pulled the dishwasher out and laid it on its back to reach the pump
- Removed the failed drain pump
- Installed a new drain pump and reconnected the hose and wiring
- Reinstalled the dishwasher and ran a test cycle
Result: The dishwasher drains completely again at the end of every cycle.
Tip: If water is left in the bottom of your dishwasher, clean the filter first. If the filter is clean and the dishwasher still won't drain, or you hear a hum with no draining, the drain pump has likely failed and needs to be replaced.

Octopus Royal uses in-house technicians only - no subcontractors, no commission-based pressure, and no unnecessary upselling.
We diagnose dishwasher leaks, drain problems, and water-related failures before they damage flooring, cabinets, or nearby kitchen finishes.
Quick checks before you call
- Pull out the filter at the bottom of the tub, rinse it and clear any food, glass or shells. A blocked filter is the most common reason for standing water.
- Check that the drain hose under the sink is not kinked or pinched behind the dishwasher.
- If the dishwasher drains into a new garbage disposal, make sure the knockout plug inside the disposal inlet was removed.
- Run the kitchen tap until the water is hot before starting a cycle, and use rinse aid for better drying.
Still not draining, leaking or not cleaning? Unplug it (or turn off the breaker), close the water supply if it's leaking, and call us. Don't keep running a dishwasher that leaks.
Frigidaire dishwasher repair FAQ
Is it worth repairing a Frigidaire dishwasher?
In most cases, yes. Drain pumps, inlet valves, door gaskets and door latches are common, affordable repairs. If the tub is cracked or rusted through, or the repair would cost close to a new dishwasher, we'll tell you honestly before any work starts.
Why is my Frigidaire dishwasher not draining?
Start with the filter at the bottom of the tub and the drain hose. If both are clear and water still sits in the tub, the drain pump has usually failed. On the Downtown Toronto job above, the pump had failed and we replaced it.
Do you give a quote before starting the repair?
Yes. We diagnose the problem first and give you the price before we start. The $85 service call is waived when you go ahead with the repair.
Is the repair covered by a warranty?
Yes. Our repairs come with a 1-year workmanship warranty.
Which areas do you cover?
Toronto, including Downtown, as well as North York, Vaughan, Richmond Hill and the rest of the GTA.
