Recent Job: Clogged Dryer Vent Cleaned in Toronto
The customer's dryer was taking longer and longer to dry a load. At the outside wall, the vent cover was packed with lint and the flap could barely open. Inside, the duct behind the dryer was holding even more.
- Cleared the lint packed into the exterior vent hood.
- Ran a rotary brush through the full length of the duct.
- Pulled out the lint ball and the buildup you see in the video.
- Checked the connection behind the dryer and confirmed strong airflow at the outside vent.
With the airflow restored, the dryer can push hot, moist air outside the way it was designed to, so loads dry faster and the dryer is not working as hot or as hard.

Why Dryer Vent Cleaning Matters
Your lint screen only catches part of the lint. The rest travels into the duct and settles in bends, joints and at the outside vent hood. Over time the vent narrows, the dryer runs hotter and longer, and clothes come out damp.
Faster drying
A clear vent lets moist air escape, so a normal load dries in one cycle instead of two.
Lower fire risk
Lint is highly flammable. Removing buildup from a hot, restricted duct reduces a well-known household fire risk.
Less wear on the dryer
Restricted airflow strains heating parts, thermal fuses and the blower. Good airflow helps them last longer.
Less wasted energy
Shorter cycles mean the dryer runs less often and for less time.
Signs Your Dryer Vent Needs Cleaning
- Clothes still damp after a full cycle
- Dryer or laundry room feels unusually hot
- Burning or hot-lint smell while drying
- Outside vent flap barely opens when the dryer runs
- Lint collecting around the outside vent hood
- Dryer shuts off early or shows a vent or airflow error
- It has been more than a year since the vent was cleaned
- Long duct runs, many bends, or a stacked or closet dryer
What Our Dryer Vent Cleaning Includes
Inspect the vent path
We check the lint trap housing, the connection behind the dryer, the duct and the outside vent hood.
Brush and remove the lint
A rotary brush goes through the duct, and we clear the lint trap housing and the exterior hood.
Test and report
We run the dryer, confirm airflow at the outside vent, and tell you about any crushed or damaged duct we find.
Note: Vent cleaning covers the accessible dryer vent path. Rebuilding or rerouting duct work inside walls or ceilings, roof vents, and building-wide condo vent systems may need a separate contractor. We will tell you if that is the case.

Dryer Vent Cleaning & Maintenance Toronto: FAQ
How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
For most homes, once a year. Large families, long duct runs, many bends, stacked or closet dryers, and homes with pets may need it more often.
Is dryer vent cleaning the same as cleaning the lint screen?
No. The lint screen only catches part of the lint. Vent cleaning removes the lint that has built up in the duct and at the outside vent hood, which the screen never reaches.
Can a clogged vent damage my dryer?
Yes. Restricted airflow makes the dryer run hotter and longer, which can trip the thermal fuse and wear out heating parts. If parts are already damaged, we can repair the dryer on the same visit when possible.
Do you service condos, townhouses and rental units in Toronto?
Yes. We work in houses, condos, townhouses and rentals across Toronto and the GTA, including stacked and closet laundry setups.
